Children

Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for children in grades K through 6 during the school months. This year we will be walking through the Old and New Testaments in a systematic way so that the kids get a view of scripture as a history of God’s people and not just a collection of isolated stories. This Survey of the Bible will take kids on an adventure of God’s amazing love for his children and how His son, Jesus, came to rescue them. Children will learn the importance of journaling and prayer, and that God made them for a special purpose. Join us for Sunday school each Sunday from 9:00 AM -10:15 AM.

 

Preschool

Our church has been blessed with an abundance of Pre-School Children … the greatest gift God could give Bow Valley Baptist Church. It is our desire that our preschool children would know God’s love in a real way as they experience a secure, loving, God centered environment every time come.

Bring your children to Sunday School on Sunday mornings during school months from 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM and/or to Footsteps on Sunday mornings all year long during the worship service from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

AWANA

Awana will back for its third year! It is a ministry for children ages Kindergarten through Grade 6 which is designed to help kids know, love, and serve Jesus. Awana meets each Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm beginning on September 22nd. The cost is $40 for the year and includes their uniform, handbooks, awards, etc.

In Awana your child will:

  1. Experience fun and exciting Game Time – Awana uses games that promote healthy competition and physical activity while allowing kids to participate no matter their skill level.
  2. Participate in Small Group Time – This time is devoted to scripture memory. Children will earn awards and recognition as they work through their Awana handbooks.
  3. Participate in Large Group Time – Singing and Bible teaching will be the focus of this time. Kids will learn more about applying the truths of scripture to their lives.

The atmosphere of fun and excitement will keep kids coming back week after week.

College and Career

College and Career is a place to belong. It is a place to join together with others who are at the same place in life you are, with the common goal in worshiping our God. It is a time of fellowship, fun, and worship where we give ourselves away to be used by God. If you are looking for an amazing group of people who are diverse, love each other and love God, come check us out. Anyone is welcome. Come join our family!

Discipleship

Jesus commanded His followers to go and make disciples. At Bow Valley Baptist Church, we are asking the Lord to make us a place where His disciples are made. With this in mind, we encourage every member to become actively involved in the life of the body. One of the key components in this discipleship process is Bible study.

Sunday School

Our foundational discipleship program is Sunday School. During this time each Sunday morning, we gather in small groups to study the Bible. Our prayer is that as the Lord encounters and guides us as we study His Word, He will also lead us into a deeper walk with Him. Sunday School is a ministry for ALL ages (children through adults) that meets each Sunday during the school year starting at 9:00 AM. Come and join us as we grow in the Lord together.

Short-Term Bible Studies

Periodically we will offer short term Bible studies. These studies are offered as we sense the Lord’s leading. Continue to check back at this site for updates concerning these studies.

Missions

Missions is at the heart of Bow Valley Baptist Church. Whether it is through giving, praying, or going, everyone can be involved. All trips are advertised in the regular church communication, but for further information check with our missions committee.

Mothers of Preschoolers

"MOPS" is a group of women who are Mothers of Preschoolers. We meet twice a month to fellowship with one another, eat without fingers in our plates, do an activity, and improve ourselves as women and as moms. It is open to all mothers, whether or not you attend Bow Valley and childcare is provided. If you are part of our community and you are looking for friends in a similar phase of life, please come for a visit!

Music and Worship

Praise Team

Every Sunday our congregational music is lead by a gifted group of musicians and vocalists on our praise team. Please contact Crystal Jardine if the Lord is leading you to serve in this ministry.

Seasonal Choirs

For those who love to sing in a choir, we encourage you to join the choirs that are put together for special times of the seasons.

Children's Choir

This ministry to children has been growing dramatically. The children work toward two performances a year and do a great job. Contact Mo Wuthrich or the church office for more information on this great group of children.

Prayer

Bow Valley Baptist Church is seeking to be a house of prayer, in every sense that the Lord desires. God has called us to make disciples. That requires that we teach all members to pray and provide opportunities to pray in small groups and in a corporate setting. As we grow in this area, we have the following ministries that allow us to engage in this great work.

Fresh Encounter Prayer Service

This corporate prayer service has proved to be a great blessing from the Lord. An evening will be set aside for this encounter with God. No other church activities can be scheduled during this time, as we desire every person to attend. During the school months, the doors open at 6:00 pm for quiet prayer and preparation. The service starts at 7:00 pm and runs for one hour. You will experience meaningful music, scripture reading, testimonies, guided prayer, and opportunities to pray with one another within the church. Come join us for a Fresh Encounter with God.

Prayer Chain

This ministry is facilitated through email, as it allows us to immediately engage our church in prayer for specific needs. This is a very active group, and we have seen many dramatic answers to prayer as a direct result of this ministry. The various ministries in Bow Valley Baptist Church also have prayer groups throughout the week. Check with the different ministries to see what best suites your schedule.

Men's Prayer Time

Every Friday morning at 6:30 am in fellowship hall.

Women

Heart to Heart is a spiritual growth ministry which encourages and enables women who are mature believers to mentor and disciple less mature believers. We desire to build personal relationships of encouragement and accountability , based on Titus, 2:3-5, and the great commission in Matt 28:19. We do this through both self matching and assisted matching for all who are teachable and willing. Heart to heart mentoring is open to all women of Bow valley who are teenage and up ,want to grow in Christ and help others to do so, for the glory of God and love of others.

Youth

We endeavor to teach, disciple and evangelize youth so that they can experience God in a new and growing way. We provide opportunities to help stretch and grow youth as servants and leaders as they seek God's will for their lives. We value adults and youth building relationships with each other as a vehicle for this ministry.

It is our desire to see youth connecting with God (themselves); connecting with the church (body); connecting to ministry/service; connecting to friends; connecting those friends to God.

    We want to see youth developing their spiritual leadership skills and we want to see youth taking peer leadership seriously. We desire to see adults take on significant leadership roles. We want to see families strengthened and healthy relationships with parents. We want to support parents in the home and see them involved in the youth ministry.

    The age group for the youth ministry at Bow Valley is grade 7 through grade 12.
