Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee shall strive to discover how God wants to use
the members of the body of Christ at Bow Valley Baptist Church to carry
out His work and purposes.
Their primary duty is:
- To prayerfully select, enlist and nominate volunteers from the church body to serve on church committees
Their secondary duties include:
- Presenting the nominees for church action
- To fill vacancies that occur during the year on the various committees
- To provide support and direction to individual committee leaders to ensure effective function of each committee
- To work with staff and church leadership to recognize the need for and create new committees as needed
The following are the primary methods used for nominating volunteers for church committees:
- To discover those church members whom God has called to serve Him
- *To seek God's will and listen to His direction - through prayer and reading the Bible and interacting with fellow believers
- *Recognizing that God calls people to various forms of ministry - sometimes for a short term, or even a one-time act of service or for a long service
- To match church members with specific areas of ministry they are interested in
- To discover areas of ministry in which specific church members are proficient
